Villahormes is a small village which is located just two kilometres from the sea.
The council of Llanes is located in the east of Asturias . We can distinguish two areas: the coast and inland. In both, there are obvious common features: the beauty of the natural landscape and some scattered populations where so far it has been preserved respecting the traditional architecture.
The coast offers a wide uniqueness, proceeds from the interaction of water with limestone. There are wonderful beaches (more than 30 across the council and seven of them in an area of less than 10 Km . Around the house), cliffs, caves, beautiful stone arches with an incomparable green background.
The Sierra del Cuera runs parallel to the coast with very few kilometres. Villages and small forests blend forming a beautiful mosaic.
In the interior, the mountain offers beautiful scenery: the Picos de Europa are well known, and the Redes and Ponga Parks are a splendid alternative for nature lovers.
Sports like surf or body board are usually practiced on our beaches. Canoeing can be done in rivers such as Deva or Sella or even at sea. In the mountain hiking, climbing or falling cannons become attractive options. Paths for walking or cycling (including the Camino de Santiago on the coast and the beautiful coastal path that reaches the limit with Cantabria) abound around Villahormes.
Llanes and Ribadesella are very close: both are villages with a long history and renowned beauty. In Llanes there is a municipal golf course in a superb location. Naves and Nueva offer remarkable examples of indians houses.
